In
accordance with the American Association of Orthodontics, Dr. Klarsch
recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation no
later than
the age of seven, or earlier if a problem is detected. He believes that
early evaluation and diagnosis can lead to early treatment of some
orthodontic problems that are more difficult to correct later in life.
Contrarily, Dr. Klarsch does not have the philosophy that all new patients with
orthodontic problems need immediate attention. He has been in practice
for over 20 years and he can easily discern the difference between prudent
early treatment and over-treatment. He is aware that all orthodontists
can identify problems in
every
patient at any age. He does not agree that all problems need immediate
attention. Some early treatments can have little or no benefit to the
patient and place a rather large financial burden on the parents. Dr.
Klarsch will recommend
only prudent early treatment. If you have any questions or concerns
regarding early treatment, please don't hesitate to ask Dr. Klarsch.
